Eoin McMullan
Since joining Hill Vellacott as a Trainee Chartered Accountant in 2013, Eoin progressed through a series of roles in the firm, including Manager in Forensic Accounting, prior to his appointment as Partner in 2020. He specialises in Advisory, Corporate Finance and Forensic Accounting alongside general practice.
A Queen's University Belfast BSc Accounting graduate and member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, he completed the Diplomas in Forensic Accounting (2018) and Corporate Finance (2021).
Eoin is a member of Senate for Queen’s University Belfast and is Chair of Convocation at the University. He is also a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of QUBIS Ltd.
Conor McCaffrey
Conor joined the team at Hill Vellacott as a Trainee Chartered Accountant in 2014 before progressing quickly through a number of roles in the firm. He was promoted to Audit and Accounts Manager in 2019 and soon after, in 2020, was made Partner, forming part of the Hill Vellacott senior management team. Throughout his career, Conor has developed a specialism in Audit and Accounts, specifically working with small, medium and large companies, groups and charities.
Kieran McCaughey
Kieran undertook his training with Crawford & Company and qualified in 1990 when he joined one of the firms that merged to form Hill Vellacott. He was formally appointed as manager in the firm following the merger and became a Partner in Hill Vellacott in 2020. Kieran has a wealth of experience in Audit and Accounts, serving a diverse range of clients from sole traders through to medium-sized companies trading in UK and Ireland, as well as a range of large charities.
Jonathan Dickey
Jonathan joined Hill Vellacott as a Partner in 2023 and has significant experience providing audit, accounting and business advisory services to a wide range of businesses from small private owner managed businesses to larger corporate entities.
Jonathan works closely with a wide portfolio of clients with particular expertise in professional services, retail, manufacturing and property development to provide enhanced management information and support to ensure appropriate business decisions can be taken on a timely basis.
Jonathan has experience in preparing financial projections and business plans to secure the necessary funding required to enable businesses to grow.
Paul Dunlop
Paul has over 30 years’ experience and worked at various mid-tier and ‘big-four’ accountancy firms before becoming Head of Tax at Hill Vellacott. Paul’s clients include leading owner-managed businesses, professional partnerships, high net worth individuals and Trust and Estates for whom he provides tax compliance and consulting services.
Susan McKendrick
Susan started her career as an Accounting Technician with KPMG in 1994 under the supervision of Paddy Hegarty and continues to work with him to this day within Hill Vellacott. Susan is a Fellow member of Chartered Accountants Ireland. As well as being the Senior Manager for the Audit and Accounts department at Hill Vellacott, Susan has had the responsibility of Training Manager since 2007. This has earned Hill Vellacott the ‘Skills and Apprenticeships Employer Recognition Award’ in 2019.
Ingrid Bryson
Ingrid has over 25 years’ experience and has worked at various large and mid-tier Accountancy firms before joining Hill Vellacott as a Senior Tax Manager.
Ingrid’s experience is predominately in the Private Client field including capital taxes and inheritance tax planning.
Sophie Hurst
After training in the firm Sophie became an Assistant Manager at Hill Vellacott in November 2020, before being appointed as a Manager in Audit and Accounts in November 2021. Sophie handles a range of clients from sole traders to limited companies and charities and holds extensive experience including the use of Sage, Xero and other accounting software.
Helen Martin
Helen trained in Henry Murray & Company where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2013. Helen progressed through her career to Manager positions. Helen joined Hill Vellacott in May 2022 as Accounts & Tax Manager, she has worked with a variety of different clients in the UK and Ireland from sole traders through to the Audit of Group Companies.
Catherine Devine
Catherine qualified as an Accounts Technician in 2016, a Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2020 and a Tax Technician in 2022. Throughout her career, Catherine progressed to position of Manager in Audit, Advisory and Corporate Finance.
As a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Catherine completed a Diploma in Corporate Finance in 2023 and now specialises in Advisory and Corporate Finance.
Catherine holds committee positions in a number of local bodies, namely within; Women in Business NI’s Young Women’s Network, Chartered Accountants Ireland Ulster Society and Chartered Accountants Ireland’s Young Professional Group.
Mary McCaughey
Mary oversees the Practice Finances of Hill Vellacott. Mary worked for over twenty years as an Accountant in the Automotive Industry followed by ten years in the Education Sector before joining Hill Vellacott.
Jonathan Hill
Jonathan oversees the Practice administration and day-to-day operations of Hill Vellacott. Jonathan has a practice management background in the Health Service before making the move to the Accountancy sector.
Phillip McMaw
Phillip joined Hill Vellacott as a Tax Consultant in October 2022, having previously worked in the Belfast tax practice of PwC and then as a tax partner with KPMG from 2005 to April 2022.
Phillip has a law degree from Queens University Belfast and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
In the course of his career in tax he has acquired extensive experience advising local companies and their shareholders on a range of transactions, including corporate reorganisations, sale and purchase of businesses, business succession planning and Inheritance Tax/estate planning.
Paddy Hegarty
Paddy trained with Henderson & Donnelly which was taken over by KPMG.
After 10 years with KPMG Paddy left in 1998 to set up Wilkinson Hegarty.
Following a merger with Chantrey Vellacott the enlarged firm was rebranded Hill Vellacott.
Paddy has a wealth of experience in professional practice, film, media, start up and advising on succession planning and business structures.
Peter Gribben
Peter was a partner at Hill Vellacott from 2005 to 2020 when he became a consultant to the practice.
Peter has a wealth of experience in both practice and industry. His broad depth of advisory experience covers a number of specialities, including the pharmaceutical sector.
Peter continues to provide invaluable experience to the practice in his consultancy role.
